Shira Sender is the Director of Client Care and Teacher Support at ShalomLearning. Shira used ShalomLearning in her religious school classroom for many years before officially joining the ShalomLearning team in 2020. For over thirteen years, she has taught students both virtually and in the traditional classroom. Shira grew up in Upstate New York, where she received her BA in Psychology and Women’s Studies from the University of Buffalo. Later, she moved to Chicago, IL where she worked on her MA in Counseling Psychology from the Adler School. She worked for three years as a Crisis Counselor with at-risk youth in Chicago in addition to teaching supplementary Jewish education. In 2018, Shira transitioned to teaching preschoolers in a Jewish Early Childhood Education program while continuing to teach and tutor religious school students.
